We love any excuse for cake here at Welholme Works and when it involves raising money for such a worthy cause, we think that it tastes even better.
Inspired by The Great British Bake Off which appeared back on our screens on Tuesday, we decided to host our Coffee Morning on the following Wednesday and alongside our usual Crochet, Knit and Stitch group.
The last couple of years have felt pretty strange and it was so nice to be looking forward to having people come and visit us – just for cake! Lots of people baked and fetched in their delicious cakes – we bobbed the kettle on and got out the best china!
There was some good old fashioned fun with a ‘How Many Sweets in the Jar’ game and in total we raised £50 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Julie baked the beautiful Victoria Sponge cake that you can see in the photo and it was judged as the winner – well done!
